Communication Pathways
This initiative provides whānau with a meaningful and culturally safe opportunity to share their perspectives, experiences and aspirations on health topics that are relevant to their whānau and wider communities. It recognises the importance of ensuring whānau voices are heard and valued in conversations that may influence health research, services and future priorities.
A supporting set of engagement templates and resources provides a pathway for these conversations to extend beyond individual engagements and reach the wider community. Central to the success of this initiative is whakawhanaungatanga and trusted, established relationships, ensuring engagement is meaningful, respectful and grounded in the needs and experiences of whānau.
Through strengthening these relationships and creating opportunities for genuine kōrero, the initiative supports greater whānau participation and representation, helping ensure community perspectives contribute to and inform the decisions, research and kaupapa that impact their health and wellbeing.
